Loving My Life as Wife, Mother and Grandmother

My Thursday...

It was a busy day...The visit to the doctor was tiring. She was running late and I had a bit of a wait. So, I made good use of my time by reading my book. I have started reading the Bestselling "Mitford Series" by Jan Karon. They are wonderful books to read. I finally finished the first book, " At Home in Mitford." Now I've started on the second book, "A Light in the Window." My Aunt introduced me to these books....and I LOVE them! I would highly recommend them if you like a clean, relaxing and entertaining read.
Once they called me back and did the unpleasantries like weighing me..yikes...I got settled in the room and waited to meet with the doctor. She said they are still waiting on my thyroid and rheumatoid tests to come back. My hemoglobin was up just enough to keep me from needing the blood transfusion..however, still low enough for me to still feel horrid...lovely :) She changed my iron pills to something with a prescription? It's a time-released form. She also put me on something for restless legs, which is a result of the chronic anemia. I also got a B-12 shot. I then told her that I'm still having back pain and hurting down low in the bladder area. They had me do a urine and came back and said they I have a definite infection...I guess that explains the pain. I have took every one's advice to heart. Cranberry juice, lots of water, and yes beets (Jackie:) So, they have started me on an antibiotic for that. I'm hoping that helps me feel better quickly. They are still going to get me in with a specialist. I have needed a hysterectomy for a long time now. I don't know until I get in with the specialist if they would be able to do an ablation procedure or not. If you have fibroids (which I do) if they are too large they can't do it. I guess time will tell and I'm just going to have to wait and find out. Until they do, I will be battling this chronic anemia.
Tomorrow is Sam's co-op. I hope the day goes well. It is a very long day for Sam and for me. We get there at 9 and finish at 3. Last week Sam and I both came home and took a nap. Things really wear me out easily. It will be his final practice, other than dress rehearsal for his Christmas concert next Tues. evening.
I have been putting a few things here and there around the house. I actually put the Christmas tree together the day before Thanksgiving. Now to finish decorating it ;) I am getting there slowly. This is our newest ornament. Elizabeth got if for me last Christmas. I just love it!!

This was also a present last yr. It came from Sarah's longtime friend Brandi. A cow-lover can't go without a cow Christmas ornament :)
This lovely fiber-optic angel..sits in front of our front window in the girls room. She is very pretty! I'm thinking...if I feel like it...of getting another little tree for their room. If I do, she's going back in the living room where I can see her all the time.
Since it's turned cold...Mickey is a sleepy boy! He wants to get under the blankets and try to stay warm. The poor little Chihuahua..he gets cold so easy. You can't tell how much Sam loves him can you? He was a Christmas present for Sarah last year....the most wonderful one of all!! I better go for now...I will try to stop by and visit everyone this weekend...I've kind of been peeking around...Some of you have gorgeous Christmas pics of your homes. I love Christmas decorations :) Hugs to All of you!! Thanks for all the kind and sweet comments, prayers and Hugs!!

Well, I wish it was better news that the doctor gave and I wish all the results were in, please post when your hear. And I hope the prescriptions help so you can get back a little energy and enjoy this special time of year.

Your decorations are adorable! I love the angel, she's beautiful! And I really love the cow but my favorite has to be the family ornament! Sweet!

And the best is that adorable picture of Sam with Mickey! Too cute!
I also love the picture of Sam on your sidebar under the comfy quilt!

I think of you often and I will continue to pray for you.
Love you lots,

Thanks for giving us an update and I, too, wish it was better but prayer and care will help. Please stick with the cranberry juice though as it will help in the future too. Now, please try to remember yogurt when you take your antibiotics to prevent a yeast infection (the sad side effect of taking antibiotics that few doctors tell you about).

Sam and Mickey just look so adorable.

Keeping you in prayer always.

blessings and hugs,

Jerelene- I am so glad that you do not need a transfusion! Thank the Lord! I hope that the prescriptions make a difference and that you will start feeling better, dear friend. I am so proud of you for putting up your tree! We JUST put our pumpkins away- lol!
Love the picture of Sam and Mickey- precious! Lori

Jerelene I am so glad to hear about your doc visit. I know it may not be all good news but at least you know what you are dealing with! RLS is not fun. I have had it since I was a child. My sister takes a medication for it. She says is works. Talk to Terrie. I tried something and it made me very sick so I stopped and I just deal with it. Just get a hysterectomy! You will be a completely different woman and wonder why you waited! love and hugs!

Jerelene...Thank you for the update on your doctor's visit. I have been praying for you, and I continue to do that. I hope that the change in the prescriptions for iron helps you, my friend.
Anemia can make you feel like a limp dishrag (Mama has anemia...and I know that she feels tired all the time.) I do hope that you get some relief from your infection....such a miserable feeling. You are a sweet sweet person, Jerelene. I hope that the co-op goes well...doesn't tire you and Sam out too much....and a nap is a VERY good thing!
You ornaments are beautiful...and I smiled at the one of the cow.
I send you love and hugs, my friend. Know that you are constantly in my thoughts. I hug you...

Wow Linda's answer was so different from mine. I hated having the hysterectomy, I too had many fibroids and one very large one. But it was horrible for me.
Don't you think that after you get rid of the bladder infection, you will start to feel some what better?
They make us feel miserable. I hope the new iron pill works better for you Jerelene. And I've heard that the B-12 works wonders. Good luck with all of it, I will say some more prayers for you!
Love Di

Sounds like you are persistent in identifying and seeking treatment for your pain. Hope these new approaches/medicines work for you! Keeping your doctor(s) in prayer as I pray for you this morning....

I hope the beauty and meaning of this season bring you peace and joy that exceed the difficulties you are facing right now.

Your ornaments are unique. I even like the cow - and usually wouldn't like something like that :)

Listen to your body. Rest whenever you can. To the best of your ability, don't stress!

Oh Jerelene, I am going to keep praying and checking back here for results. We are getting into the spirit of Christmas oh so slowly, too. Our co-op is done until January and I am so grateful! But still, since I teach there, there are piles of papers to grade, an un-decorated house, and uncooked meals. I love your cute little ornaments! And I enjoy the peek into people's homes this time of year too!
