My Friday Favorite

Thank you Eileen for asking me to participate in the Friday Favorites...

My favorite for today is this hilarious picture of my beloved Bichon Teddy. He is 9 yrs. old now. We've had him since Sammy was small. He is such a good little boy. He has never been aggressive and just LOVES to sleep with the kids. We had another little mixed breed dog that I got from the local shelter..but I had to recently find another home for her. She didn't like Sam...his tics made her nervous and she liked to growl and show her teeth at him. Our neighbors daughter took her and now they are the best of friends. She sleeps with her and gets lots of one on one love. She had came from a puppy mill and didn't have much socialization. I felt bad, but I couldn't have her biting Sam. We also of course have Mickey the Chihuahua puppy. Sammy is showing him in 4-H. That is going pretty well. He is a puppy and is nosey about what's going on around him. So, the making him sit and stay...it's coming along :) Teddy loves sitting and looking out the window. He and Mickey now are good buds..so sometimes they both sit and look out the window from the top of the couch. The picture above him is also one of my favorite things. I bought it at a 2nd hand shop. It now hangs over my computer desk. (Eileen, notice the pink in it?) The quilt hanging on the back of the couch is the first one I put together. I am hoping to be able to finish it soon...

Some of my points weren't just perfect so my Aunt helped me work on it. It will fit on my bed when it's done. It was made up of all different kinds of fabrics that were purchased and some given to me by my Aunt and other family members. It's just a basic 4 square...but putting them all together was so much fun!!!

I thought this was funny and that you might think so too...

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED

1. Raising teenagers is like nailing Jell-o to a tree.

2. Wrinkles don't hurt. (that's good to know:)

3. Families are like fudge--mostly sweet, with a few nuts.

4. Today's might oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

5. Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside. (Diana, this made me think of you :)

6. Old age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.

7. Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician. (I can relate to this one!)

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused :)

Jerelene, I love that picture of Teddy, so,so cute! I can see why you chose him as your favorite.
And that list at the end was so true! I loved it. I am going to read it to my husband.

Great job, Jerelene! And Teddy looks like he's smiling for the picture! I love it!
Very nice quilt! I love the pattern and I love the colors! I am always amazed at the talents people have. I am so clumsy in that way. My Mom and my mother-in-law both tried to show me how to crochet, but I'm clueless! And my Mom's mother made such beautiful doilys like Diana does. My Dad's mother always said to me that I took after her because she could never do that kind of work either.
Anyway, it's a Blessing to be able to see your talents put to good use!

And I like your favorite picture very much, I love floral arrangements and I love baskets and that picture has both along with my favored pink. And what a nice find it was and a nice thing to look at while you are working/playing on the computer.

Thanks, Jerelene! I so enjoy seeing what other people favor!

Dear Jerlene, I have been away for a couple of weeks and have been catching up on your posts. I am so impressed by your strength. I have learned more about you in the last 30 minutes of reading and have found a friend I truely admire. When I am feeling a little bit down I am reminded that there is someone in the world that has a few more challenges than I do. I thank God for my challenges, because without them I would not learn compasion for others. You are in my prayers as well as your friends son who just lost his father. I loved your post of Lee Marvin and Cptn. Kangaroo. I too loved to watch that show and then Mr. Rogers. How often do we sing "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood"? I sang it just last week to my grandchildren! Thank you for sharing some very personal private things about yourself. hugs.....lindalu

Hi Jerelene,

The first thing I saw was eddy and thought...how cute, he's a favorite thing!
Your quilt is so lovely and how talented you are. My grandmother (on my mother's side) could quilt and won prizes but when she died my nearest cousin got her treasured quilts and used them as bedspreads for her children and they were ruined, so sad.
Can we get a picture of your other fur baby too?
Too bad the other dog was that unfriendly with your son because you hear so many dogs that are comforters in those cases or alert you if there is a problem...wish that would have been the case!

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Your Teddy is precious! I have a sweet black miniature poodle named Little Miss Matilda Bear. I posted her picture just today!

Hi Jerelene, Your Teddy is adorable ♥ I know he and Charli would be great friends because she likes to lay up on the back of the sofa too. Your quilt is beautiful. I like your picture too. It's very pretty. I'm giggling from reading your Great Truths. I hope you have a lovely evening :>)
