A beautiful fall day....

Happy Thursday evening!! It has been a beautiful day here in Southern Indiana. The leaves are definately changing colors...the air wasn't humid..and there was a lovely little breeze. I opened the windows and let the curtains blow in the breeze. I hope it is this beautiful where you are too!
Sam started on this book this week. It is a lovely story about some school children in Holland trying to get Storks to come back to their town. It is very well written and so far it is very interesting. Along with reading it I think we'll study some on Holland and on Storks. Reading this book reminded me of something my Mother gave me in the recent Great Giveaway :)

These little Holland Girl or Dutch girl...dishtowels. The little girl in the book wears the hat like this and the little wooden shoes. These were my Mom's neighbors and she gave them to my Mom. I just love them.....
These are a couple of my favorites. The one on the left reminded me of Marcy...she told me she always hangs her clothes out...(I like to sometimes...but not all the time...it takes a lot of time to go hang them out and then take them down...I have much appreciation for those who do this all the time :) The second one reminds me of Diana....with the little mop. I bet Diana looks this pretty when she mops too :) I just thought some of you might think that these are cute...I love the little aprons too!

It's a short post tonight...tomorrow is co-op so I'm going to try to head to bed early!
Hugs to all!!!
With Love, Jerelene

Cute post, Jerelene!
I love those dish towels, and I appreciate so much you posting pictures of them!
I actually avidly seek out blogs that have vintage linens, cloths, towels, doilies, etc.! So this was a treat to come to one of my favorite blogs and see some! Beautiful!

And I am so enjoying this 'Charlie Brown' music! I have a Christmas CD like this!

I hope Sam enjoys his book!
Take care, Sweetie.
Love, Eileen

I know the book is written for Sam's age but I honestly think I would enjoy it as well. I love how you are going to teach him a bit about Holland....what a great mum you are!
I love your dutch girl dish cloths and how you related them so accurately to our dear friends.
Have a great Friday....:-) Hugs

Those dish towels are precious and the one of me facing the opposite direction and hanging clothes is my best 'angle'...seriously I love them and that you are learning about Holland...maybe you could share some of it and wouldn't it be wonderful if Linda did a post on Holland???

I'd love to read that book myself! Hope Sam enjoys it.

The weather is absolutely beautiful up here in NW Indiana, too! This weekend is the Johnny Appleseed Festival and there couldn't be more suitable weather!

The towels are too pretty to use (althought I'm sure they were meant to be). Isn't it grand how they had the days of the weeks stitched on each one?!

Enjoy the book. It looks positively wholesome, informative, and entertaining.

First of all, I love your pumpkin background! How festive!

And oh my, your son's pumpkin is HUGE! We have some big ones in our garden! I was sooo happy that they actually grew! We cannot wait to decorate with them!

Love the dutch dishtowels! So cute!

Yep, the weather here in IN is lovely...if we could just get rid of the golden rod, than my allergies would love it! :)

Hi Jerelene,

So nice to meet you! I am from northern Indiana. Not too far from Fort Wayne. I love to meet fellow Indiana bloggers. Your blog is adorable! Thank you for your kind words. They mean so much to me. These are tough times, that is for sure, but God, family and sweet friends are helping me through.

Hugs to you, Jill

Hi Jerelene,

I just popped over here from Woodsy Ivy. I think I read that book when I was a child. I am going to have to find it at the library and read it with my own homeschooled boys.

P.S. I love the autumn theme and the music.

Hugs,

Jenn
