Sam's 12 !!!

Sorry I've not checked in with everyone, but yesterday was just so busy I wasn't able to sit and post anything. The night before his birthday I was still busy at the sewing machine...
12 yrs. ago...this sweet little guy arrived. They pulled the pacifier out and then snap went the camera...I wasn't too happy. His little mouth didn't even get the chance to quit puckering :) He had the prettiest blond hair that looked frosted in the back. He was adorable....8 lbs. 6 oz. 22 inches...(he was my tiniest...all the rest were 9 pounds or more..) They take such cute pictures of the babies nowadays....they didn't then :( But he was a beautiful baby!!
He got even cuter...or we think so anyway :)

Here he was in preschool...He's the only one of my kids with blue eyes like his Daddy. I think that is what gave me the heartburn for 9 months....
And of course he grew and turned into a sweet 12 yr. old!! He got an mp3 player...
He also got some other little toys too....Then the oldest sister, Elizabeth...took Sam out for lunch at our local Mexican restraunt.

Burritos.....yum!!! Sam had fries with his...
Big sister sharing fried ice-cream with Sam. She really wanted the guys to come and sing Happy Birthday to him...then they smash the ice-cream and cool whip in your face...But Sam didn't want to do that...so she just got some and shared :)
Later.....for supper....out with Grandma to Cici's Pizza!! This is Grandma (my Mommy :)

Sam got some stuff for his train track from big brother and......

A new train from Grandma!
And....I know you've all been wondering....I DID get the quilt done the night before his birthday...And yes, he LOVES it ........

It was a good birthday for him....and I appreciate everyone that left comments..wondering if Momma got it done....thanks for the encouragement! I needed it :)
I got a call from the specialist's office who is suppose to do Sarah's surgery on Saturday morning. They said they had called the insurance people this morning and that they wouldn't authorize it because they had to have 48 hrs...to process and authorize and that Saturday didn't count. So unless I can straighten something out with them in the morning it looks like we may probably be rescheduling her surgery. She is pretty upset. I will find out for sure in the morning. A friend from our homeschool co-op reminded me this evening to keep in mind that God has his reasons for everything...so I'm trying not to be upset...but we've had this scheduled for 2 weeks. They should have took care of things in time....Oh well...
That's all for now...It has been a long day and we have co-op all day tomorrow. I've not felt well this week either...so I'll try to catch up and say hello to everyone this weekend...I apologize for not making my rounds...forgive me :)

I was wondering why I hadn't seen you at my blog! Jeez Jerelene, it's not like you've been busy or anything!

I felt your stress trying to finish the quilt for Sam and I knew you would do it. Oh and by the way I adored that first photo of Sam, he looked as if he were saying " Ohhh I don't like this !" very cute!

It sounds like you gave Sam a wonderful day Jerelene, he looked very happy!

And I totally agree with your friend Jerelene. Everything happens for a reason. Please keep us informed about the surgery.

Now can you please explain to me what God had intended for ticks (the bug) for? Check out my blog and then let me know your answer!

Love Di

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SAM!! It looks like he had a wonderful day!
And I'm glad you were able to finish his beautiful quilt!
You have a beautiful family, Jerelene, thanks for sharing Sam's birthday with us!

I'm so sorry about your daughter's surgery and all the insurance mix-up, and I can imagine how she feels, you get yourself all psyched up for something, it's got to be such an anxious time for her, and I'm sure she just wants this over and behind her, as I'm sure you all do.
But I'm so glad you had someone there to remind you that it's in God's Hands. And when you think of it like that it is sometimes easier to accept things, although when you are in midst of these problems it's very hard to think along those lines. So I'm glad there was someone there to plant that seed for you.

I will keep you all in my prayers, and that it will all work out according to God's Plan for you.

You know, Jerelene, Monday is my Dad's birthday, and I've been missing him a lot, and you have Josh Groban singing "A Breath Away", and it's bringing me so much comfort. I remember saying those exact words to my Dad about my Mom "She's only a breath away now", as he took his last breaths.

We've just had another death in the family, it was a distant cousin, we didn't see that side of the family too much, but she's the mother of four and her oldest boy just started college, she passed from a brain aneurysm, tomorrow morning we'll be going to her funeral Mass.
It's hard not to question God's Will sometimes.
But it's a comfort to know He Has a Plan for us.

Thanks for visiting me and thanks for always being so kind to me, Jerelene.
You're an inspiration to me.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

What a beautiful baby - and fine young man now! I'm glad there were many special events in Sam's special day. I hope you can get some rest now with that big project finished.
I join the others in praying about your daughter's surgery - and for all of you to have peace and courage while you wait.

By the way, I like that train set up! What fun it must be to arrange the accessories for the train.

It looks like he had a great day! Your baby is just 3 weeks younger than my baby, and he had blond hair too.

I am going to keep praying for you. As my mom always reminded me when I would get all worked up over something I couldn't control, "God is in control."

Hi Jerelene!!!!
I've missed you.
I love the scripture you ended your blog with....couldn't have chosen a better one for the love of Sweet Sam....
Tell Sam that my son is an engineer...and enjoyed his trains when he was young....and still enjoys them today...as he plays with trains with his son....one never outgrows that, I guess. :))
Happy Birthday Sam...(belatedly) from Jackie

Jerelene...
I'm sorry that you haven't been feeling well this past week. You've had a lot going on. Take care of yourself, please...
I hope that things are working out regarding Sarah's insurance. Red tape can be such a pain. You are a lovely lady. I miss you, and hope that you know I'm thinking of you.
